n honor of Armed Forces day tomorrow, we wanted to highlight the ability to look for veteran jobs through our Veteran-Friendly Companies lifestyle filter. For many veterans, moving between serving in the military and the workforce isn’t always an easy transition. However, there are many employers looking for the valuable skills, discipline and experience that veterans are known to have.
Officials from the Department of Labor and Chamber of Commerce late last week announced a new 14-state pilot program to help veterans find not just jobs but "meaningful careers" upon finishing their military service.
Many enlisted members of our military struggle financially, especially those with families. And too many veterans who have left the military cannot find any full time job. And so they turn to HirePatriots’ “One Day” jobs. These are jobs that local residents post whenever they need help with chores or repairs done. — Local businesses that want to hire local veterans also use our job board.
Here is an article that lists some valuable links for US Vet job seekers. It also re-publishes an article I wrote awhile ago about the new techniques for finding employment in the Brave New World of the social networks.
