HonorVet.org Partners with System One to Help Veterans Find Employment
NEW YORK, NY - HonorVet.org, a social community forum for veterans, service members, and their families, has recently partnered with System One, the leader in technical outsourcing and careers, to increase veterans’ opportunities for meaningful employment. Together, HonorVet and System One will connect screened, skilled, and available Service Members entering the civilian workforce with employers across diverse technical industries.
Each year, more than 300,000 U.S. troops complete their military service, providing a highly trained workforce eager to transition to professional opportunities. Yet, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment rate among veterans who served in the military since 2001 is 11.5 percent. With this recent partnership, System One and HonorVet.org hope to combat this statistic. “U.S. veterans possess the leadership and integrity to excel in the workplace, but too often their unique contributions are overlooked,” said Troy Gregory, Chief Executive Officer of System One. “System One is proud to serve as a national advocate for the hiring of ‘workplace warriors’ who can make an immediate and lasting impact on our country’s prosperity.”
“We are proud to partner with System One, a staffing and solutions firm with more than 30 years experience, to combine our network of top-tier executives, professional recruiters and career coaches who will provide one-on-one resume, career and interview guidance to veterans and put them in touch with System One’s own diversified network of employers,” explains Jesse Canella, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of HonorVet.org. James McCain, Executive Vice President and co-founder of HonorVet.org said “System One and HonorVet.org both share a deep passion for giving back to the veteran community. System One has been an industry leader and through our joint efforts we know we will make a tremendous dent in the current unemployment rate that veterans are facing”
Founded in 2010, HonorVet.org serves as a means to provide a safe and trusted environment for veterans, service members, and their families and to make available an array of services dedicated to enhancing their overall well-being. Powered by Odeo and built by Evan Williams, creator of Twitter, HonorVet.org brings the power of video and social networking to connect veterans with family members and with psychological, spiritual, and career professionals.
HonorVet.org was co-founded by Canella, US Marine / Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran and US Marine / Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran, James McCain. Canella also leads System One’s Veterans Resources, along with Director Alyse Zwick, Miss New York 2009, and long-term veteran’s community supporter.
